A finished unit should not evaporate while the class moves on

The syllabus moves forward, and every new unit pushes out the previous one. There is no lesson time to go back, and the students do not go back on their own: what has been forgotten gives no sign until the test.

KYW does that work between lessons. You collect the vocabulary of a unit into a pack once and hand it over as a link – from then on the app returns every word to every student just before they forget it. Your lesson, your textbook and your syllabus stay exactly as they were.

An account in KYW holds not one dictionary but as many as you like. In the interface they are called “word languages”, but you name them yourself – nothing stops you calling one “7A English” or “Masha · exam”.

Every dictionary has its own words, its own tags, its own schedule and its own statistics. The classes will not blend, even when the word is the same: the 7A card has nothing in common with its counterpart in 9B except the spelling.

Dictionaries are switched in the “Account” section, in the header. The same place creates, renames and deletes them.

A pack in KYW is a named list of words that can be handed to another person. For a teacher that is the natural unit: a unit, a chapter, a topic, a list for the test.

The packs you have built sit on their own shelf inside the dictionary – the “Packs” section, the “My packs” group. Over a year that shelf turns into a map of everything covered: you can see what has already gone to the class and what is worth revising before the exam.

A pack is built in one form: “Packs” → “My own pack”. Its words do not have to be in your dictionary – they can simply be brought in as a file. You need to add words to yourself in one case only: if you are going to learn them too.

1. Open “Packs” → “My own pack”. In the “Take the format” step copy the prompt. If you want the model to use your own definitions and tags instead of inventing new ones, attach the file from the “Download your words” button.
2. Give the prompt to any chatbot together with the material: a textbook page, a word list from the workbook, your lesson notes or a passage of text.
3. In the “Bring the pack” step drop the answer in as a file – JSON, TXT or MD. JSON brings the whole pack; a line-by-line file carries the words only, and the language, title, tags and text you fill in by hand.
4. Fill in the language, the title and the tags of the pack. The text is optional, but if there is one, the app checks the coverage and shows which words it could not find in it.
5. Press “Create the pack”.

The words that arrived in a file do not enter your dictionary – a pack for the class can be built without adding anything to yourself. If you need those words too, first add them through “Add”, and then pick them straight from the dictionary in the “Words of the pack” field: it has a search and a “Select everything found” button.

Besides the list of words, a pack can carry a text – a passage in which those words occur. Then the student does not get a bare column: they read the fragment, tap a highlighted word and see its meaning without leaving the page.

For you it is the same material as in class: a paragraph from the textbook, a short news item, a piece of dialogue.

The pack travels as a link. To open it the student needs neither your account nor anyone else’s – registration comes in only at the moment they want to take the words for themselves.

Publishing the pack is not needed for that: the link works on its own, and the pack goes into the shared library by a separate button – and only if you want it to.

1. Open your pack and press “Share this pack”.
2. Copy the link and send it where you already talk to the class.
3. If the pack is useful beyond your class – press “Publish”, and it will be found by search in the shared library. You can unpublish at any moment; the link keeps working.

The student opens the link, reads the text, looks through the words and presses “Take the pack” – and the pack together with its words is added to them.

From then on the words live by their own answers: someone who already knew half the unit will not grind through it with everybody else. Your tags lie apart from their own until they accept them, and if you later rewrite or delete the pack, nothing of theirs disappears.

KYW is not a gradebook. There is no class roster in it, no “done” ticks and no per-student reports: their accounts are not tied to yours, and you cannot look from your own screen to see who has been studying.

A student’s progress can still be seen – if they share it themselves. The account header has a “Share a link” button: the page opens without signing in and shows numbers only – the streak of study days, how many days had a session, and the main results. The words themselves are not visible through such a link. Ask your students to send you one, and you will see who is really working.

• The vocabulary you have covered comes back to the students on its own, without a separate revision lesson.
• The material is built once and works for every class after: the same pack, the same textbook.
• The list for the exam does not have to be built again – it assembles itself from a year of tags.
• A student who joins mid-year gets everything already covered in a few links.
• The classes do not blend: each has its own dictionary, its own tags and its own statistics.
